Great food & restaurant very clean but very disappointed in owner not finding time to come to our table after 2 requests; waited 45 mins & they weren't slammed. Fish tacos & buffalo style hamburger great. Wanted to share all positives & to let them know hours posted on Yelp are wrong as shows closed. Sad to say she found time to visit w/regulars but not us newbies who could potentially become regulars. Will try again though.

This is one of my favorite places to eat in Canon (when they are open). The food is great and my husband and I have tried several things on the menu including salads, sandwiches, etc. They offer an extensive drink menu and the staff is always prompt and courteous. They also have a large patio offering nice views of the mountains and an area for games. It's a nice relaxing atmosphere but only open during the summer season.

This fine eatery is attached to the Echo Canyon River Expedition and serves as a perfect oasis for before or after a day of adventure. For me I have been three times just to eat because it is the best bar food around. It is not a freezer to fryer type of place. Everything is fresh and the staff is at tentative, knowledgable and nice. They are only open from Memorial Day through Labor Day do it is a short season but well worth the stop

Awesome place... food was great and the staff was very personable. The outside area has plenty of games for kids to playl

Great place to eat. Great for the family (including kids). They have outside dinning with a playground, volleyball and horseshoes. The staff is always amazing and the steaks are to die for. Even though they have a bar; it is very clean and kid friendly. I love this place. In the west it is hard to find restaurants with sweet tea. I'm from the south and sweet tea is a must. They serve it and it's the best.

We stopped here to eat because it looked like a good place, expecting it to be outrageously expensive since it is in a tourist area and attached to the rafting expedition place. We were pleasantly surprised that it was very reasonable. Though the service was very slow and our waitress was annoyingly chatty (I think she was trying to compensate for the slow food prep), the food and atmosphere more than made up for it. The presentation was very nice - our bruschetta looked like artwork - and healthy portions filled us up well. We sat outside and enjoyed watching all the families prepare for their rafting adventures. It was beautiful weather and we were happy leaving for our next adventure.

Pros: cute ambiance, good bottled beer. Cons: bad service (got the order wrong - "fixed it" - it was wrong again, unfriendly, inattentive, slow), over-cooked steak, unflavored fish tacos, dry philly steak. Table of 3, not one of us could finish our food because it was so bad. $85 tab for bad food and bad service. Do not recommend.

Simple menu but with some great choices. The food was fresh and very artfully presented. The location is awesome! You can see the Royal Gorge bridge and some beautiful mountain passes. They have a great sand volleyball court, cornhome deus, and a huge fire pit with seating. Great place!

Food was great, atmosphere wonderful, but the service left something to be desired. Our empty water glasses were ignored and we overhead the waitresses talking about how they were "tired of some of their customers". I would still recommend going, and I would/will continue to enjoy eating here. I'm sure the service will be better usually.

Awesome place to grab a good beer (or a 2 dollar PBR) and great food after a day of rafting or exploring the Royal Gorge. Amazing views, river-guide chic ambience, open air concept with outdoor games and a huge fire pit seal the deal! Oh, and the food is exceptional! Try the fish tacos or the Cobb salad! When I couldn't decide what dressing to get my waitress insisted on bringing me two to try! Great service! I couldn't imagine a better place to eat with the family after a long day out on the river!!

What looks to be a newer restaurant with a small menu and very good food. The main dining area has garage-type doors that open up onto a very nice outdoor dining area. It was cold and raining when I was there, and they had a fire in the outside fire pit. Not that the Yelp! map (and other app maps) show this in the wrong place; it is west of Canon City very near Royal Gorge Bridge.

Well above expectations. Mahi mahi and vegetables were delicious. Prices - just right.

They were extremely busy right when we got here and THE RAFT GUY did a wonderful job getting us help and cleaning a table. Our awesome waitress Baylee kept us informed of our food time plus had us laughing. The food was the best we had in our 5 state family trip. The wife loved the burger. The chicken fried steak was delicious with sweet gravy.

We enjoyed eating here while in Colorado. We got there before it got busy for lunch. You have a great view of the mountains and was near the Royal Gorge. My husband and I shared the Philly cheesesteak sandwich and a salad. Everything was fresh and tasty. This place is also where they leave for white water rafting so it can be very busy.

Very slow, even while there were open tables, food came out over an hour late, good atmosphere but the food was poorly done.

Our large group stopped here for lunch after a rafting trip with Echo Canyon next door, and I wasn't expecting much - maybe basic bar food and kid meals. But 8 Mile Grill & Bar had some things going for it, even if you hadn't been up since 6 am with nothing to eat. The tables are pretty much outdoor seating - most are out on a large covered patio, and there's a more covered bar area that still has one open wall facing out onto the patio. It stays shady and cool even during the glaring noon heat, and the ice water is quickly and plentifully refilled. The menu ranges from about $8-15 for lunch, and includes some sandwiches and burgers as well as more substantial entrees. The buffalo brat was large and flavorful, but a bit overcooked (it's easy to overdo buffalo), although the cheesy fries were savory and good. The grilled trout was excellent - unfortunately, it was supposed to come with sticky rice and mango salsa, both of which the kitchen was out of that day. However, they substituted mashed potatoes and veggies and then comped my meal, which I thought was more than fair. The carrot cake was ridiculously huge, like Claim-Jumper-sized, and had an unusual and tasty frosting and fruit sauce. Service was friendly but harried. Our server explained that it had been one of those days, and given the heavy amount of large groups from the rafting place, I can understand why. We weren't in a big hurry, so it was not a big deal, but if you're pressed for time and in search of a quick meal, this may not be the best place for that - especially if you have a big group. Overall, they were pretty good, and worth checking out if you're already in the area.

We just had their bruschetta appetizer and it was amazing! Topped that off with the yummy fish tacos. Can't wait to eat here again!

My husband and I stopped here in late September. Fun atmosphere and good food. Yummy chips and salsa. We both had a slopper and the green chili was delicious. We will stop here again!

Awesome service and food! Buffalo burgers were amazing and their fries were coated in parmesan cheese with a hint of garlic. Tasty! Highly recommend.

The food was good, but the service was the worst I have had. First of all, let me say that I travel with my job and eat out on average of 4 times a week. I was at the Royal Gorge with my family, it was around 3:30pm on a Sunday, they were very slow and had ample help. I think they had a problem trying to figure out who was to wait on us because we had to wait 5-7 min for her to take our drink order. She then brought our drinks and told us that she had to do something first before she took our order. That's when she forgot about us. She was with 3-4 other employees, laughing, cutting up and generally doing nothing that looked too important to us. She then came over and said," I guess you would like to eat , huh?" DUH...that's why were there!!! Then they were out of lemons, spring mix lettuce and I forget what else, we placed our order, and it was time to wait....again! Our tea was refilled after we asked and then brought back to us without ice. The tea was warm, so it melted any that had been in the glass. When we finally got our meal, around 15 - 20 min. it was a new waitress because ours had left for the day. We asked the new waitress for ketchup and she brought out 2 small cups and 4 of us had fries. When we did ask for more ketchup, ranch, etc. it didn't come for a while and was never enough. My daughter had to get up and go ask her for more because she would never look over at us. Now, let me explain where we were sitting. We were about 2 tables from the bar and where all of the employees "hung" out. There were very few customers. They better learn the meaning of "service" or they won't be here long. I was extremely disappointed and told many patrons in Canon City, Co. of my experience. The food, however, was excellent and would have enjoyed it if it wasn't for the poor service.
